Run for Your Life This instant

It didn't take me long to realize that Patterson had teamed up with a writer who is far weaker than he is. I can pick out the chapters and scenes Patterson wrote and likewise those of Ledwidge. The former is confident and smooth, the characters immediately alive on the page. Ledwidge's chapters are cliche riddled, peppered with unnecessary details, awkward unrealistic dialogues, the villain's victims ridiculous caricatures, reminding me of some of the beginnery stuff I've seen come through writer's workshops. It made for choppy reading. From now on, I will steer away from his collaborations and stick to his solo projects.
