This is a classic and I wouldn't dissuade anyone from reading it if they want. This review is just a warning that this is not a happy book! As a kid I saw the movie, and all I remembered was a scene where Black Beauty was happy and running free. Apparently that was just at the beginning of the book! It's beautifully written and really grabs you as a reader, but if you're a compassionate animal lover and expecting a happy book a beautiful animal and his happy life, you'll want to put this book down.Get more detail about Black Beauty.
