I was looking forward to this book because I love historic fiction and know very little about the Japanese/Chinese struggle during WW 2. Or about the interment camps, or about Seatlle. A lot of reasons to find it compelling. But I could hardly read it - It was soooo boring, labored and immature. I put it aside after three chapters.Get more detail about Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet: A Novel.
