Where has Alan Bradley been hiding all my life? Flavia de Luce is my favorite character of the year. She is a perfect mixture of confidence, superiority, little sister brattiness and observer of the World. Her world is one which made me never want to leave; Buckshaw and it's inhabitants, the residents of Bishop's Lacey and society of 1950 Britain. Flavia's thoughts to herself are written with such love and wit. She is an eleven year old wunderkind with a love of poison, drama, and fantasy. Her ability to absorb details and calculate her reactions is a delight. I only wish there were already 10 novels "in the bank" with Flavia at their center! I would read and love all. Thank you, Mr. Bradley, for giving us this fabulous little heroine.Get more detail about The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie: A Flavia de Luce Mystery.
